How It Started
Thank John Cena...

John Cena brought Anders Varner, host of Barbell Shrugged, to Florida to complete the challenge.

It was 2015 and only 31 people had successfully entered the club.

Over the next 48 hours, Anders managed a total of 2009 pounds.  It was an event that marked more than a weightlifting total.

FAQs
How long is it to run the whole system?
4 weeks to market and sell the program, 8 weeks of training ending with the One Ton Challenge. 

We recommend taking a 3 month break then running it again.  Twice per year is a great rhythm.
Who is this event for?

This is for you as a gym owner, to use a simple, repeatable, profitable lifting event to grow your gym.  We handle 4 weeks of marketing to sell the event, 8 week of programming to train for the event and full SOPs on how to run the whole thing! 

Having everything already made where all you have to do is copy/paste or follow instructions makes it every easy to delegate who whole thing to your team so you don't have to do it all and it still gets done the right way.

What equipment do I need?
Super simple.  For each group of 3-4 people, you need a barbell w/ clips, bumper plates, a rack and a bench. 

If you have anytime who lifts over 500 it's also a good idea to have some iron plates as well as it's easier to load more than 5 plates per side on the bar when they are thinner than normal bumpers.
 
How many times can I run the event?

You are buying a 1 year license to be a Shrugged Strength Gym and are allowed to run One Ton Challenge as many times as you like in that one year period.  You will automatically be will billed every year until you request to cancel your license.  30 day notice for all cancellation requests.  

How much help will I need?
This is simple enough where you could do it with yourself + a coach.  We do recommend you have 4-6 people just to spread out of workload and make it easier and more enjoyable to do everything needed to make the event as good as it can be.  Best case scenario your whole team participates, either lifting or helping or both!  Having everyone on board is essential for strengthening the relationships, culture and community aspects of your gym.  Get as many people involved as you can!
 
How much should I charge?

We recommend charging around $150 per person or 75% of a normal 12 month membership rate if your rate is significantly more or (even more relevant) less than $200 per month. 

You know your specific market better than anyone so you have control over the pricing and are welcome to charge what you think people will pay.
